dstelecom is bringing fiber connectivity to all parishes of Santa Marta de Penaguião. According to a statement sent to the press, the company is reinforcing its fiber-optic network in the municipality, guaranteeing 98% coverage—around 5,500 homes—by October 2021.
According to the same statement, this investment will ensure that all parishes have access to broadband services, benefiting from higher speeds, greater bandwidth, improved coverage, and enhanced quality, thus eliminating barriers of time and distance through the digital highway.
During the month of July, network reinforcement works are underway in Alvações do Corgo and in the Union of the Parishes of Lobrigos and Sanhoane. The remaining parishes will be upgraded by October, with the aim of bringing fiber connectivity to an additional 2,500 households, the document states.
According to dstelecom, this expansion—aligned with the company’s mission to deliver fiber-optic connectivity to areas with lower population density—contributes not only to population retention, but also to the creation of new opportunities for the region, becoming a driver of attraction and increasing economic and social benefits.
It should be noted that dstelecom is a wholesale telecommunications operator responsible for building and managing the first and largest multi-operator FTTH fiber-optic network in Europe, available to all telecommunications operators.
