dstelecom announced this week the connection of its digital highway to the municipality of Belmonte, ensuring that its fiber-optic network now reaches 98% of the municipality.
The wholesale telecommunications operator states that, from now on, “all parishes in Belmonte have access to telecommunications services with greater bandwidth, benefiting from higher speeds, improved coverage, and superior quality—thus eliminating barriers of time and distance through the digital highway.”
At present, the dstelecom network already reaches the localities of Belmonte, Caria, Colmeal da Torre, Inguias, and Maçainhas, “covering around 4,000 homes. By the end of May, all five localities are expected to undergo further network reinforcement.”
According to the company, this expansion is aligned with its mission to “bring fiber-optic connectivity to areas of the country with greater digital needs. It contributes not only to population retention but also to the creation of new opportunities for the region, becoming a driver of attraction and increasing economic and social benefits.”
Consumers can check the availability of fiber coverage in their area by visiting
www.dstelecom.pt/cobertura or by sending an email to euquerofibra@dstelecom.pt with their full address and, ideally, GPS coordinates. Alternatively, they may contact their telecommunications operator via 800 910 660.
