Dstelecom was founded in 2008 with the mission of eliminating geographical barriers and allowing all Portuguese people – from the coast to the interior – to have the same opportunity to interact with the world through the most modern communication networks. To this end, it built, operates, and maintains the first and largest multi-operator fiber optic network in Europe, in the areas with the greatest digital deficiencies in Portugal.
Today, its digital highway passes through 149 municipalities in the national territory, totaling almost one million covered homes, and the main telecommunications operators active in the country make their services available to the end consumer through this fiber optic network.
