In 2020, dstelecom plans to create more than 100 direct and indirect jobs to support its strategy of expanding and consolidating its fiber-optic network across Portugal, from north to south.
The company, which closed 2019 with 23,000 kilometers of fiber-optic network installed across around 100 municipalities located in lower population-density areas, currently has open positions for fiber-optic installation technicians for the customer network. Roles include assistant technician and team leader, across the districts of Beja, Braga, Bragança, Évora, Faro, Viana do Castelo, Portalegre, and Santarém.
Recruitment is open to candidates with minimum mandatory schooling, with or without prior experience, as dstelecom provides initial and ongoing training for all hires. The compensation package includes a salary of up to €14,500 per year, a company vehicle (for two-technician teams), and social benefits in place within dstgroup, in addition to strong prospects for career growth and personal development. Selected candidates may also work within their area of residence.
The professionals hired will be responsible for executing final-user network connections, a service provided by dstelecom to telecommunications operators in Portugal.
In parallel with direct recruitment, dstelecom is also seeking companies and contractors specialized in fiber-optic installation to establish business partnerships, with the aim of strengthening its response capacity in inland regions. In addition to ensuring a regular workflow for these companies, this approach allows dstelecom to maintain closer proximity to local communities.
