The same source also shared the advantages that local populations gain with the arrival of fiber optics, outperforming other existing solutions in terms of internet, television, and telephone services.“Fiber optics are far more efficient and secure than copper, as they transmit more information over longer distances with a higher degree of fidelity. For example, a fiber-optic cable can easily transmit a signal over more than 80 kilometers without the need for amplification,” António Alves concluded.
