We travelled to Maria Vinagre, a village in the parish of Rogil, in Aljezur, a municipality covered by our fibre optic network, where we spoke with Cristina Benvindo.
For about six years, 300 kilometres separated Cristina from her daughter. Although she was working remotely in Lisbon, she was unable to visit her mother more regularly, or even live with her, as the parish of Rogil was not yet covered by a broadband service that would allow her to work remotely.
In August 2021, everything changed. Cristina finally gained access to the fibre optic service provided by the dstelecom network, enabling her daughter to return home and continue working remotely.
According to Cristina, fibre optics not only brought her daughter back home, but also made countless everyday tasks easier. ‘Today, I can take care of things much faster and from home! I pay my car tax or book the gym with just one click. Now, everything is easier.’
In conclusion, Cristina would like to give special thanks to our teams. ‘I want to thank dstelecom and the entire team for their commitment to getting me fibre. Finally, my family is coming to live with me!’
It is stories like this that drive us forward. It is stories like this that keep us committed to taking our network further and further. From the very beginning, our mission has been to break down geographical barriers through our digital highway. And it will continue to be so. Day after day.
We would like to remind you that dstelecom now brings fibre optics to more than half a million Portuguese people in over 100 municipalities. From north to south, aware of the impact of this infrastructure on people’s lives, we have been expanding the number of families we reach, allowing them to enjoy broadband service, benefiting from faster speeds, greater bandwidth and better quality.
