dstelecom's multi-operator optical fiber infrastructure will reach more than 12 thousand homes in the municipality of Gouveia, in Guarda, by the end of the first quarter of the year, ensuring the population's access to better telecommunications services and guaranteeing freedom of choice in subscription of television, internet and telephone packages.

At this moment, more than 11,700 people from Gouveense can now enjoy telecommunications services from any operator, in Aldeias, Arcozelo, Cativelos, Figueiró da Serra, Folgosinho, Freixo da Serra, Gouveia, Lagarinhos, Mangualde da Serra, Melo, Moimenta da Serra, Nabais , Nespereira, Paços da Serra, Ribamondego, Rio Torto, São Paio, Vila Cortês da Serra, Vila Nova de Tazem and Vinhó.

The wholesale operator also informs that, by the end of the first quarter of this year, the digital highway will reach another 300 homes in the town of Melo. After all, of the homes that did not yet have access to state-of-the-art broadband services, dstelecom will cover 98% of the municipality, guaranteeing greater bandwidth, more speed, better coverage and higher quality.

According to Ricardo Salgado, CEO of the company, this expansion is aligned with the purpose of bringing optical fiber optics to areas of the country where there is a greater digital need and contributes not only to the retention of the population, but also to the creation of new business opportunities for Gouveia, thus increasing the economic and social benefits of the territory.

“It was with the aim of improving the quality of life of all Gouveenses that we decided to invest in the municipality. I am convinced that this digital highway of ours will do more to retain people and attract investment than the asphalt highways promised us”, he declares.
