dstelecom expands fiber optic coverage in Cinfães and Resende

In total, more than 10,000 families in Cinfães and around 7,700 in Resende will have access to the latest generation broadband services by the end of the first half of this year.

In Cinfães, where the company has been operating since 2015, the new network expansion will make it possible to reach parishes that were previously not covered, such as Ferreiros de Tendais, Tendais and the Union of Parishes of Alhões, Bustelo, Gralheira and Ramires. The parishes of Cinfães, Santiago de Piães and São Cristóvão de Nogueira will also see their coverage significantly extended, allowing the municipality to exceed 80% fibre optic coverage.

In the municipality of Resende, which has also been covered since 2015, the expansion will mean that 98% of the area will now have access to fiber optics. The towns of Barrô, Felgueiras, Ovadas, Paus and São Cipriano will be included for the first time, while areas such as Freigil, Miomães, Resende, São João de Fontoura and São Martinho de Mouros will have their coverage reinforced.

In total, more than 10,000 families in Cinfães and around 7,700 in Resende will have access to latest generation broadband services by the end of the first half of this year.

This initiative is part of dstelecom's strategy to ensure that areas traditionally less favoured in terms of digital infrastructure have the same opportunities as large urban centres.
In total, more than 10,000 families in Cinfães and around 7,700 in Resende will have access to state-of-the-art broadband services by the end of the first half of this year.

With a neutral and open multi-operator network, the inhabitants of both municipalities will be able to choose between the main telecoms operators in Portugal, promoting competition and access to better prices.

Ricardo Salgado, CEO of dstelecom, emphasised the company's commitment to reducing inequalities and fostering economic and social development in the regions, highlighting Cinfães and Resende as examples of dstelecom's commitment to promoting an inclusive digital future. The company is also expanding its fibre network in Armamar, which now reaches more than 4,000 families in the municipality.
