98% of houses in the municipality can now connect to the digital highway
dstelecom has just reinforced its fiber optic network in Golegã, in Santarém, guaranteeing access to the digital highway to all parishes in this municipality, which now benefit from more speed, better coverage and higher network quality.
With this reinforcement, the wholesale operator thus expands fiber optics to over 1,200 homes in Azinhaga and Pombalinho, parishes of Golegã, where dstelecom debuted in 2015, taking the digital highway to 2,600 homes.
According to dstelecom, this expansion will not only contribute to the reduction of regional asymmetries, but also contribute to the establishment of the population and the creation of new opportunities in the region.
Furthermore, as all operators operating in Portugal make their services available to the final consumer through this fiber optic network, citizens will have freedom of choice in terms of subscription to television, internet and telephone.
For António Camilo, Mayor of Golegã, this is a very important step, not only for the well-being and quality of life of Golegã residents, but also for companies based in the municipality.
“Investment in new generation communication networks is fundamental for the development of the local economy, for increasing the competitiveness of the territory and gives the populations of the parishes of Golegã, Azinhaga and Pombalinho access to a set of services with the required quality in the our days”, he comments.
Consumers can check the availability of fiber coverage in their area by going to www.dstelecom.pt/cobertura or by sending an email to email@example.com with the full address and, ideally, GPS coordinates. Alternatively, you can also talk to your telecommunications operator on 800 910 660.
