The parish of Pedorido, in Castelo de Paiva, is now part of dstelecom's fiber-optic network, in an expansion that brings the municipality's coverage to 98%.
Since entering Castelo de Paiva in 2015, the company has gradually extended its fiber optic infrastructure, with the aim of covering the municipality comprehensively. The current phase should allow around 650 new homes to be connected by the beginning of June, bringing the total number of households with access to broadband services in the municipality to over 7,500.
Pedorido, until now out of reach of the fiber network, is now connected, in a move that reflects dstelecom's strategy of integrating areas further away from the major centres into the dynamics of the digital transition.
The network operated by dstelecom is characterised by a neutral and open model, allowing residents to choose between different telecommunications operators. This approach aims to ensure freedom of choice and foster competition, guaranteeing access to high-performance services regardless of geographical location.
