dstelecom network teams welcome 21 trainees

Starting in March, dstelecom's network will have 21 trainees from the Professional Technical Course in Network Management and Advanced Telecommunications, promoted by the Polytechnic Institute of Cávado and Ave (IPCA) in partnership with dstelecom. These trainees will contribute directly to the development and management of the company's network.

Launched in 2023, the course lasts two years and combines theoretical and practical training, being taught by IPCA lecturers and specialized dstelecom professionals. Students from the first edition, who are now starting their curricular internship, will have the opportunity to consolidate the knowledge they have acquired. The second edition of the course is already underway.

As part of its strategy of proximity to the academic community, dstelecom has been strengthening its collaboration with higher education institutions, promoting initiatives that facilitate the integration of students into the job market. In this internship, students will have the opportunity to apply skills in designing, installing, optimizing and managing network infrastructures, configuring servers and internet services, maintaining computer systems and telecommunications networks, among other essential functions in the sector.

Completion of this course confers a Higher Professional Technician diploma, equivalent to Level 5 of the National Qualifications Framework, opening doors to a career in telecommunications.

For Ricardo Salgado, CEO of dstelecom, this is an essential step for students to acquire skills in line with the demands of the job market and the needs of companies, bringing added value to the development of the dstelecom network. “The answers to strategic challenges can no longer be found exclusively indoors or in conventional models. There is a direct relationship between success and partnerships with centers of knowledge,” he adds.

By collaborating with IPCA on this project, dstelecom is underlining its social responsibility and its commitment to valuing new talent, creating a clear path for the inclusion of young professionals in the job market, while at the same time contributing to the evolution of the telecommunications sector in Portugal.
