dstelecom has just adhered to the Carta de Princípios of BCSD Portugal, a document with a voluntary reference that aims to establish guidelines for companies that seek to operate responsibly in the country. The objective is to reinforce the commitment to adopt ethical business practices, promote sustainable development and make a positive contribution to society and the environment.
Created in 2017, the Carta is based on six principles: Legal Compliance & Ethical Conduct; Human Rights; Labor Rights; Prevention, Health and Safety; Environment and Management. It is open to all companies that share the ambition of a sustainable future and has already more than 170 signatories, including dstelecom.
Its implementation takes place within the scope of Jornada 2030, a global initiative consisting of 20 objectives, 20 targets and 20 cross-cutting environmental indicators, which aims to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) established by the United Nations by 2030.
It is an instrument with a systemic approach that aligns and demonstrates the contribution of companies to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations with the strategy of the European Union (EU) and Portugal, in line with the European Ecological Pact and the Paris Agreement, in addition to multistakeholder Corporate Social Responsibility goals.
By adhering to the Carta de Princípios of BCSD Portugal and the Jornada 2030, dstelecom is committed to integrating the SDGs into its business strategy, identifying opportunities for a positive contribution in areas such as poverty eradication, quality education, gender equality, climate action, among others, reinforcing its intention to build a sustainable future for the next generations.
