ESG: dstelecom in the top 5 of the most sustainable operators in Europe

With a score of 91%, dstelecom has just been ranked 5th in the list of the most sustainable telecommunications operators in Europe, in the GRESB Infrastructure Asset Benchmark Report 2023 ranking.

The evaluation, to which we were subjected, is voluntary and involves parameters related to the company's management and performance. It therefore focuses on leadership management, policies and processes, risk management and stakeholder engagement approach and comprises information related to health and safety, energy, greenhouse gas emissions, air pollution, water, waste, certifications and awards.

Having a score of 91 out of 100 points indicates a very positive performance in relation to environmental, social and governance practices, proves our commitment to leading the sector when it comes to ESG practices and reflects a solid commitment and robust practices in relation to sustainability , covering environmental, social and governance issues.

In the context of GRESB, the score also provides a relative comparison. Indicates that the rated asset or company is performing significantly better than many of its peers in terms of ESG practices.
GRESB evaluates several components, including ESG policy and disclosure, risks and opportunities, environmental monitoring and management, stakeholder rights, among others. A high score suggests solid performance in many, if not all, of these areas.

With a presence on a global scale, GRESB - Global ESG Benchmark for Real Assets is an independent organization that provides environmental, social and governance performance data, and important benchmarks for companies to improve their financial intelligence, engagement with industry and decision making, through monitoring risks, opportunities and impacts.

Remember that dstelecom recently joined the Science Based Targets initiative, a joint initiative of the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), the United Nations Global Compact, the World Resources Institute (WRI) and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) which seeks to help companies set objectives to reduce carbon emissions and limit global temperature rise, based on climate science and the goals of the Paris Agreement. Aware of the current global climate crisis, we commit to reducing direct carbon emissions by 46% by 2030 and achieving carbon neutrality by 2050, helping to ensure that the increase in Earth's temperature does not exceed 1.5ºC.

Furthermore, with the aim of reinforcing the commitment to adopting ethical business practices, promoting sustainable development and contributing positively to society and the environment, last July, dstelecom joined Jornada 2030, by subscribing to the Charter of BSCD Principles, a document with voluntary references that aims to establish guidelines for companies seeking to operate responsibly in the country.
