Impact of optical fiber on National Tourism

In an increasingly digital world, offering a good technological experience is a competitive advantage over the competition.

To know the impact of our infrastructure on the hotel sector, we spoke with Ana Luís Vasques, manager of Monte da Galrixa, located in the town of São Teotónio, in Odemira.

“These days, the internet is an essential asset for our guests, being a tool not only for work, but also for leisure”, she tells us.

On the other hand, workers themselves also benefit from a good connection to the digital world.

“At reception, the quality of the internet is essential to the smooth functioning of this entire business, as it is through it that we sell our rooms, receive reservations and communicate with our guests”.

Monte da Galrixa has been in operation for a decade and a half. But since the fiber arrived in Odemira, everything has changed.

“We opened without access to fiber, but from the moment we signed up to this service, we noticed a great improvement, both in stability and in internet speed”.

Today, the quality of the internet service ends up being a deciding factor for the majority of guests at Monte da Galrixa.

“Most people who visit us enjoy and are used to using the internet daily, I would even say constantly. In addition to use for leisure purposes, we noticed that people often bring pending work on vacation and, to complete these tasks, they need a fast, stable and quality connection.”
